looking for more guineas

I told myself I would never be interested in doing Wedding Photography. For some reason, it just didn't appeal to me. I wanted to just stick with families and kiddies and the occasional engagement session. Which I have loved doing over the past 8 months. I didn't realize how hard/exhausting family sessions are!! I still really like doing them, but they're a tough job! Trying to find fun/creative poses for the specific family and trying to be funny to get them to all naturally smile AND all look at the camera while trying to capture the shots at the same time takes a lot of energy. Anyways.... that was just a little bit of a tangent.

What I'm really trying to say is... I want to do Wedding Photography, too!!! Shanae and I did Cori's wedding and that was a ton of fun. I didn't do anything with wedding stuff after that. Then I started shadowing/assisting an amazing photographer, Aria Photography, in my Church Ward, on a few weddings and I've LOVED IT! The couples are on cloud nine and are enjoying getting photos taken and both sides of the families are just so happy and giddy and I could go on and on... but I wont.

So this is what I'm hoping to find. People who wouldn't mind me practicing on them for mock bridal/groomal shoots. I would like to build my portfolio with weddingness:) I still of course want to keep doing families/kids/babies..etc..

I don't mind if you've been married a year or however long and still have your dress or one you could borrow or if any girls just want to get some fun photos in their mom's/sisters/cousins dress. Or if you got married and never got any bridals with or without hubby taken and you want some!

Don't be shy, you know it would be fun! So comment and let me know or text/email/facebook me and we'll get something set up! =)

the locks are gone...

Warren's hair didn't always look this disheveled. This was just after he had woken up from a nap. I don't have any pictures of his cute curls on my computer at the moment, they're all on my hard drive. But you get the idea. The buddies hair needed a cut. I only wanted Seth to cut off half an inch. I still wanted his cute curls and wings he had goin on.

As some of you may know.. it's not easy keeping a little man still, let alone to get his hair cut. It got cut a little (read: A LOT) shorter than I wanted, but hair grows back and I can tell he's still got his curls =) Mommas happy.

He thinks everything the size of a phone, is a phone. Even bars of soap.
He picks it up and very seriously says, "H-wo"

Auntie Cori had to help hold his head still. He wasn't very happy about it.

Now he looks like a little boy. This is the closest pic of his hair that I've taken so far since being cut. Grow little hair, GROW!!

he likes socks

So one day I randomly put one of Warren's socks on one of his hands. He thought it was the funniest thing. Now every time he sees ANY sock around the house he brings it to me and skinnies his fingers up together and wants me to put it on, it makes him pretty happy. =)
Don't worry, these socks were pulled straight from the clean clothes pile.

lego man

I subconsciously decided I was going to try and attack the 365 picture-a-day. I never said anything to anyone or really said..."I'm going to do this" Because I didn't want feel the pressure. So this is me not announcing it.. just saying I might be trying to do it. I might also blow it :) So far so good. They have all kinds of set ups and stuff to help give you ideas of what to photograph, but once again... pressure.

I also kind of started slacking on taking pictures of Warren. (You're thinking, wha??? she posts pictures of him all the time.. ) Anywho- The last few days I decided to take pictures of what we have been doing together throughout the days. And this blog is kind of like my journal and ren's the cute one around these parts. Your blog turns into your life/what you're doing. Warren is my life and what I do everyday involves him, so there =).

Remember the lego destroying that he loves to do? Well here 'tis.  (It doesn't really look like destroying, but he does. He takes apart everything I build. One lego at a time)

This is his "I'm concentrating face".                          Mouth open, tongue...usually out.

Whenever he climbs up onto things, he smashes his face against it, then pulls his bum in the air.

See all that drool on the picture to the right about to fall off his tongue? Ya, it usually ends up on me somehow =)

And every once in a while he likes to make cute faces, but usually never towards the camera.

day 6

favorite super hero and why

I always loved mighty mouse throughout my little years and high school years. I really don't remember why. I think it was because he was so small, but was always the courageous hero that flew=) (I always wished I could fly when I was younger) ((Who am I kidding, I still wish I could fly))

play time with warren

This little man is getting more and more fun by the day and I LOVE it! I've tried to spend more time playing with him, rather than just watching him play while I clean/do whatever. I love being a momma, but who wouldn't? Some of his favorite things to do when we play together are:
I build a really high tower with his large legos and then he pulls them apart one by one and throws them.
I build a really tall tower with his blocks and he loves to bulldoze them over.
I just lay on the ground and all over me he will roll/walk/crawl/rub his face in mine. I think it's his favorite...ok ok it's my favorite thing to do. He giggles non-stop.
We play with hats. Sometimes he loves wearing hats, but of course when I decide to whip out the camera, he has a hard time wanting to keep it on for very long=)

*If I don't let him play with my lens cap while I'm taking pictures he lets me hear it, he'll follow me squealing (a man squeal of course) until I surrender it.

day 5- somewhere i've been

a picture of somewhere you've been.

I couldn't choose just ONE picture of this AMAZING place that I have been.
Just looking through my facebook albums of this particular place pulled at my heart strings.
I have to give you a little preface to this place.

I'm a home-body. I was excited to go to college, but once I got there, unpacked and my parents drove away, I cried.
I cried e.v.e.r.y night for the first week. haha.  I was homesick to say the least and went home as often as possible probably every two weeks. No joke and it's a 10 hour drive.

So when I mentioned to my parents I wanted to go to this place for 4 MONTHS, my dad laughed at me. He said there was no way I would be able to be on the other side of the world and survive 4 months without my family.

Well, I went and I loved EVERY MINUTE. Ok I did get pretty homesick whenever I had the chance to skype with my family. I miss my little kids that I taught. I miss the scenery. I miss the girls that I lived/taught/traveled with. It changed my life and was exactly what I needed at that time in my life. I so hope to go back someday.....

I went to Ningbo, China to teach English to chinese students for service. We were able to travel around a bunch. Here are a few pictures of my favorite places.

(I stole these off my facebook albums so they may be kinda pixely)
I don't remember the name of this place
