better late than never

I was going through some pictures and realized I never documented the little mans 'first' cake experience. (I posted about his early birthday, in which he was sick and didn't want to even look at the cake) This was on his real birthday. No worries, it's only 6 months late =) Sorry for the coloring, it was at night, Seth was taking these and didn't use flash... and I don't feel like editing them :) It was a yummy little cake the nieces made. We needed something that he liked to put on top so that he would realize it was covered in yummy toppings, and grapes was the food of choice at this stage of his life. It took him a while to get the hang of it, but once he did, he dug in!

And then he decided he needed to be decorated in the frosting, too!

He thought he might try to make some pigtails out of his hair.

roll finishers

These are just a few photos that I personally love from different rolls of film that I took, trying to finish up a roll.

Cori brought their new little pup over to play.

It's impossible to get these three to look at the camera at the same time AND smiling OR having normal faces :) But I love them anyway.

salt water

"The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea."
- Isak Dinesen

A good cry, I think, is needed every once and a while. I had one of those today. The kind of cry where you're all alone so it doesn't matter if you make those embarrassing snorts or high pitched gasps for air. Ya one of those.
For me, it releases all tension in my body, allows me to let it ALL out in five minutes of a good cry and then I feel better. Feel stronger. A good cry, just feels so......so... GOOD.

I have a city league ball game tonight and it'll be the first time since freshman year in high school that I'm able to play with Cori again! I'm so excited. There will come the sweat. I'm 2/3 cured;)

Now where's dang ocean when I need it!?

ggggoooooaaallllllll!!!!!!!

We had fun watching my nephew, Michael, play in his soccer game. It was the cutest thing watching those little ones chasing the ball around and stopping mid dribble to turn and wave 'hi' to their moms. We spent most of the time telling them which way to kick the ball and laughing at all the hilarious things that went on. Oh the joys of 4 year olds and sports. I sure can't wait until lil man Ren gets to join in on the fun!

This picture below is hilarious because Michael randomly turned to where we were sitting and got down then stood up with his fists in the air yelling, "Mommy, thank you for taking me to the soccer game!!!"
Attention spans don't last long and they start chest bumping each other while waiting for their turn :)

This cute little girl kept helping Michael up whenever he would fall down.
It's like there's a magnet on their shirts connected to the ball.

And of course if your shoe falls off, just run out of them game and find your mom :)
