a smile is a curve

that sets everything straight.

2:00 a.m. little guy wakes up turning his head from side to side searching for food. mommy wakes up to feed him.
2:30 a.m. asleep from his first go 'round eating. change his diaper to wake him up for his next go 'round.
2:45 fast asleep. mommy knows he's not done eating. mommy picks him up to burp him. 1 burp - wide awake...
3:33 a.m. as wide awake as can be but not fussing for his last go round for food; mommy getting a little frustrated because she is tired from every 1 1/2 hour feedings the last 2 days. tries to put him asleep...no luck.
3:40 a.m. mommy puts ren in swing and lays down on couch.
3:45 a.m. ren starts fussing and searching. mommy REALLY tired. mommy feeds him. ren gives mommy three of the cutest big smiles.

mommy not so frustrated and tired anymore (even if it was a 'gas' smile:) )

4:13 a.m. mommy and ren go to sleep.

almost 2 weeks?!

I can't believe that on Monday, Warren will be two weeks old. It doesn't feel that long. The week he was born feels like it was one LONG day and he's been home for only almost a week. It's so nice to finally have him home. I will confess, when people said I would get less sleep than I already did being pregnant, I thought, "How can I get any less, I already have to run to the bathroom at least 5 times a night, how can it get any worse?"

I now understand :) Especially when your little guy comes home with his nights and days mixed up, or he's going through his first growth spurt, eating every 1 1/2 hours in which it takes him 45 minutes just to nurse!

None the less, I wouldn't have it any other way. We love our little guy and are just humbled & happy to have him alive and home with us. I love watching Seth with him. I knew Seth was going to be a good daddy but not this good;) He loves him some baby Warren.

I haven't taken a bunch of pictures since being home with him cuz I'm usually sleeping whenever I can:) but here are a few from random ones. I'll get some more here soon, he has the cutest dimples when he smiles in his sleep.

His last night at the U of U Hospital.

He loves his daddy:)

The night he came home with both sets of grandparents

His first night home:)

Getting ready to go to a post NBICU check up.
(gotta love the Jordan beanie)

miracle

Warren Jay Ellsworth was born November 23rd @ 7:16 AM by an emergency C-Section. His heart rate dropped suddenly a second time and could not be recovered until a few minutes after his birth in which he was not breathing. He is now at Primary Childrens. Nothing was found wrong in his ultrasound today!!!(as far as brain damage goes) and they will take an MRI on Sat morning to make sure everything is definitely okay. It's been a long & emotionally draining journey. We have been blessed to have both my parents here with us and Seth's parents flew in too when they found out. We're just happy to have our little boy alive, let alone completely normal so far. They still don't know what caused his heart rate to suddenly drop from 140 to 50.Nothing was wrong with the cord or with my placenta. We feel so blessed to have him, and for all our friends and family who has kept him in their thoughts and prayers. We love you all and are so grateful for you!! Seth is in the process of writing out the story. There were so many little miracles along the way that helped in having him alive. The nurses were all amazed that he lived.

(But if Seth takes TOO long to write it, I may just try ;) )

I haven't been able to hold him yet, and saw him twice before they flew him out, but Seth has been able to go visit lil Warren. I will be able to hold and go see him on Thursday!!!! I've never been more excited:) So for now here's a few pics Seth got of our handsome boy.

FINISHED!!!

well almost.

His room is not completely done, but almost. I have all but one picture taken & edited, and put up & the vinyl is on the wall!

I finished the car seat cover & the car seat tent cover. It feels good to have finished what needs to be done before he comes, makes me excited!!

Oh and the nursing cover, or "hooter hider" (thanks hillary, for the proper naming ;)) my cousin MADE ME !!! How awesome and perfect timing was that?! I am soo excited about it & so thankful for it!!

AND hopefully only 7 days left till he makes his debut.

I finished all this tonight, going through Runaway Bride 2 1/2 times, it just kept playing:)

So here they are:

lasts

Yesterday was my last day of work at Downeast. Loved working there, love the girls.

HOPEFULLY this is my last week of this pregnancy:). & Tomorrow my last Sunday @ church without toting a carseat.
- But I think I'll be okay if he decides to stay in he oven a little longer. I'm at the point where I feel like I'm gonna be this big forever...

Tonight I'm going to finish my last baby projects for our lil guy.
