lego man

I subconsciously decided I was going to try and attack the 365 picture-a-day. I never said anything to anyone or really said..."I'm going to do this" Because I didn't want feel the pressure. So this is me not announcing it.. just saying I might be trying to do it. I might also blow it :) So far so good. They have all kinds of set ups and stuff to help give you ideas of what to photograph, but once again... pressure.

I also kind of started slacking on taking pictures of Warren. (You're thinking, wha??? she posts pictures of him all the time.. ) Anywho- The last few days I decided to take pictures of what we have been doing together throughout the days. And this blog is kind of like my journal and ren's the cute one around these parts. Your blog turns into your life/what you're doing. Warren is my life and what I do everyday involves him, so there =).

Remember the lego destroying that he loves to do? Well here 'tis.  (It doesn't really look like destroying, but he does. He takes apart everything I build. One lego at a time)

This is his "I'm concentrating face".                          Mouth open, tongue...usually out.

Whenever he climbs up onto things, he smashes his face against it, then pulls his bum in the air.

See all that drool on the picture to the right about to fall off his tongue? Ya, it usually ends up on me somehow =)

And every once in a while he likes to make cute faces, but usually never towards the camera.

day 6

favorite super hero and why

I always loved mighty mouse throughout my little years and high school years. I really don't remember why. I think it was because he was so small, but was always the courageous hero that flew=) (I always wished I could fly when I was younger) ((Who am I kidding, I still wish I could fly))

play time with warren

This little man is getting more and more fun by the day and I LOVE it! I've tried to spend more time playing with him, rather than just watching him play while I clean/do whatever. I love being a momma, but who wouldn't? Some of his favorite things to do when we play together are:
I build a really high tower with his large legos and then he pulls them apart one by one and throws them.
I build a really tall tower with his blocks and he loves to bulldoze them over.
I just lay on the ground and all over me he will roll/walk/crawl/rub his face in mine. I think it's his favorite...ok ok it's my favorite thing to do. He giggles non-stop.
We play with hats. Sometimes he loves wearing hats, but of course when I decide to whip out the camera, he has a hard time wanting to keep it on for very long=)

*If I don't let him play with my lens cap while I'm taking pictures he lets me hear it, he'll follow me squealing (a man squeal of course) until I surrender it.

day 5- somewhere i've been

a picture of somewhere you've been.

I couldn't choose just ONE picture of this AMAZING place that I have been.
Just looking through my facebook albums of this particular place pulled at my heart strings.
I have to give you a little preface to this place.

I'm a home-body. I was excited to go to college, but once I got there, unpacked and my parents drove away, I cried.
I cried e.v.e.r.y night for the first week. haha.  I was homesick to say the least and went home as often as possible probably every two weeks. No joke and it's a 10 hour drive.

So when I mentioned to my parents I wanted to go to this place for 4 MONTHS, my dad laughed at me. He said there was no way I would be able to be on the other side of the world and survive 4 months without my family.

Well, I went and I loved EVERY MINUTE. Ok I did get pretty homesick whenever I had the chance to skype with my family. I miss my little kids that I taught. I miss the scenery. I miss the girls that I lived/taught/traveled with. It changed my life and was exactly what I needed at that time in my life. I so hope to go back someday.....

I went to Ningbo, China to teach English to chinese students for service. We were able to travel around a bunch. Here are a few pictures of my favorite places.

(I stole these off my facebook albums so they may be kinda pixely)
I don't remember the name of this place

day 4

a bad habit i wish i didn't have.

So maybe I should have Seth post this one. I think sometimes I don't recognize bad habits I have cuz they're habits and I don't realize it =)

I have a bad habit of blog hopping ALOT. Mostly photography and craft blogs.
I look at facebook too much. You feel outta the loop when you go from college life to stay at home mom. But it is a bad habit.
I don't remember to always say my prayers.

And those are just a couple. I went to ask Seth what some of my bad habits are and he said those along with "I don't really pay attention to your bad habits." (ah, sweet=) ) It's true though he doesn't ever complain about anything I do that he doesn't like, etc...

green is my favorite color

For Christmas my parents gave each family one of these beauties! I'm in love. Here comes the homeade goodness. (maybe)

One of my friends wrote a blog post about how her little family has started to drink green drinks from the greensmoothiegirl.com . I thought I'd give it a try since I'm kinda weird and like 'green' drinks. Like the Odwalla green ones and this mix that Seth used to buy from Good Earth that was pretty much straight up greens made into powder. Anywhoo... The Bosch blender has been awesome to make them since my old blender is well... ooooolllld. I really am liking them and I know I don't eat enough fruits and veges anyway so it's a great way to get all your servings in a smoothie and wala! You're good to go for the day. What's in them you may ask? Well this is what I normally put in mine. Spinach, Kale, collards, carrots Banana, Apple, blueberries, blackberries, cup a water. Sometimes frozen strawberries/raspberries. Sometimes a little raspberry yogurt becuase depending on the amount of greens I use, it needs a little sweetening. The green smoothie girl uses agave and other natural sweeteners but I haven't gotten to that point yet =) That wasn't a little bit of a sales pitch now was it? ;)

Here's Warren enjoying a taste of the first one I made =)   Most days he really likes them.

and... sometimes I get brave and decide I want to sew. So here is it. I should have taken a before picture but it was pretty much a downeast long sleeve shirt from when they first started downeast, so it was kind of mis-shappen (the side stitching wasn't straight)  so I didn't wear it a ton. I made it into a ruffle v neck tank. Got the idea from  Made by Lex. Kinda fun for my first 'refashion'!  I had just woken up from a nap, so my face got cropped out. :)

when?

So I know I can just ask my mom or google it or research it or whatever it... BUT I like hearing your guys input/opinion/thoughts.

When do babies/toddlers REALLY understand when you tell them to not do something or they shouldn't touch something...etc..?! When do you start disciplining them and they actually understand/learn from the discipline.

I KNOW Warren understands certain things.. but it's like I'm not even in the room or he can't hear me or pretends to not here me when I'm right next to him telling him not to touch something...not to suck on the plug in the outlet, etc. He won't even react to me clapping to get his attention when he is doing something that might fry him (sucking on the plug IN the outlet) ((Of course in that instance I ran over and grabbed him)) but you get the idea.

Can you even discipline at this age? He's 13 months. Do they understand? If yes, what have you done/do?
