(Turkey White Chili)
The farther and farther along I get, the more and more worried I get that I will be a bummer mom and wont know how to make or do anything. My mom taught me lots of good things, but putting them into action has been the problemo. This last week I've tried to make dinners instead of just pancakes or nothing at all for dinner and did some crafty things and made strawberry jam. I guess it helps me feel more mommy-esk. Bring on the baby!
Anyone have a great recipe for meat loaf?:)

Awesome! The soup looks good!
ReplyDeletemeat loaf... for just two of you, 1 lb hamburger, 1 egg, cubed cheeder cheese, saltines (or ritz, or any type of crackers, or bread crumbs) soaked in a little bit of milk, salt, pepper, ketchup, barbeque sauce, a-1 steak sauce, worshtishire(sp?) suace, (or a bit of ANY type of sauce you have in your fridge). All to taste, mix together, and place in pyrex dish (I make mine a ring shape)and cook at 350 for half hour(or until cooked through)... if you like ketchup or barbeque sauce you can spread some on top the last five minutes of cooking. Some people really like vegetables,(green peppers, tomatoes, onions, etc) if you do, chop them up boil them in some beef broth and when soft throw them in your meat loaf, it adds flavor, nutrients, and lowers calories per serving (for the health nuts)... (the only bad thing you can do to meat loaf is over cook it- and dry it out..) it is basically hamburger with anything thrown in...
ReplyDeleteP.S. you "baby bump" is adorable.. and don't worry, you'll be a great MOM!
Janica you are awesome!! You will be such a good mommy!!! Look on my skinny jeans recipe blog, I am pretty sure HIllary posted her FAMOUS meat loaf :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I have a GREAT recipe for meatloaf! I can send it to your email, which email do you prefer?
ReplyDeleteAnd you will be a GREAT mommy! You are so creative and artistic so check that one off your list! Also your healthy and active which is so good for running around with little babies! PLUS your pretty and have a cute little baby hill in your middle! lol ;)
You're doing just great & you look so cute! It sounds like you're starting to experience the nesting syndrome where you want things to be in order & ready for when the baby comes. You have a little over 5 mos. to get ready. I'm sure it will help when we settle on a house & you'll know where you're living & have a place to put your little bundle of joy. If you need more meatloaf recipes, I have some. I haven't made it that much lately, since your Dad isn't big on it.
ReplyDeleteHey I look more prego then you and I just had the baby. I need to work out. You look good. I'll try and update more on my blog. I have had one busy week with JoLynn, Shad and my parents here. Jett was blessed on the 7th. Your jam looks good. I'm impressed. Don't worry about being a good mom, I know you will do great. Besides if you think once you have the baby your worries will go away, well you're wrong. I'm always telling Danny that I don't feel like I'm a good mom. All they do is eat, sleep, and poop. You can't really mess that up. :)
ReplyDeleteJanica you crack me up!! You'll do fine!! Like my sisters say it all just kinda clicks into place!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Sis! This is Risa and Marci, we are up late waiting for you to come over... and well we guess you are not coming(sigh...) so we will have to go to bed, oh and we both think you are going to be a great mommy!!!!!! As far as dinner ideas go we will e-mail you the dinner menu system we use, it is way awesome, and stuff. so enjoy your little belly bump, while it is still little.
ReplyDeleteJan, you look so cute! :) Congrats, again! I'm sure you're going to be a non-bummer, wonderful mom. It looks like you might be getting lots of dinner/meatloaf ideas. If you want another, let me know--it's really yummy. Also, if you like eggs, there's this wrap recipe that I love that's super easy and quick, but also filling. It's just a tortilla with cheese melted on it. Then cook an egg (over-easy) and put a couple slices of deli turkey/chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and a strip of mustard on the cheesy tortilla, and top with the egg and wrap it up and eat it. I don't even care for eggs, but I really liked that and it's way easy. Anyway, that is about the only wisdom I have for you as far as cooking--it's definitely harder than it looks to keep dinners going every day that are healthy and good, etc., huh? I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who might think so. :) So happy for you, again! Congrats!
