I went up to Logan to stay with Shanae and the fam while Seth was away for a week. It was fun and I love being around my sis. On Wednesdays they go to what is called 'Hot Chocolate Club' where you can ice skate and then you get free hot chocolate afterwards. I was a little nervous, I hadn't been in FOREVER. Good thing they let you take strollers on the ice. Warrens ice skates were the CUTEST things I've ever seen. He didn't like them so much at first when he tried to walk in them. And then on the ice, it was worse. He let us drag him around for a bit, but then he just wanted to try and walk, with not much success :) It was really fun though and made me wish I had taken up ice skating back in the day. haha. I was really wanting to try a triple sow-cow.

what would YOU want to learn?
I was just asked to teach a 45 minute photography class to some ladies in my church ward. I'm excited because I think it will be fun, but then also freaking out a little because I don't know exactly what to teach in that amount of time. Sooooo.....I wanna know. If you had the opportunity to go to a little photo class, what would you mainly want to learn and know? What kind of hands on stuff would you like to do/learn from? I know there are 'the basics' but be specific as you can! :) Thanks!!

one of those days.
I must admit, I've been pretty good this last little while on not comparing myself (photographically) to other photographers. I've had people tell me over and over that I shouldn't even look at others' work. Which I don't all the time, it's just a habit I've had since who knows when and couldn't really contain it once I started into it :) AND I didn't compare myself to them. (Well, maybe once in a while, I did)
Let me back up. When I started, I compared myself to all the greats and got down on myself A LOT and thought I shouldn't continue to pursue photography because I would never be as good as them. I soon remembered photography is an art---> everyone has their own interpretation of art---> not everyone will like your art---> but that's okay as long as YOU like your art.
So I soon got to a point where I liked my art and honestly didn't care if hundreds of people liked it. I realized I shouldn't get hung up on how many people looked at my blog that day...how many comments a certain post got...etc... I was able to shoot because I loved it and I was happy with my results.

BUT
I knew something was missing. I wasn't satisfied 100% with my results.
Then I found Film.
I've loved it. Until today. haha. I'm not satisfied with my results. I'm worrying too much about what others think and I'm comparing my final product to others. I've found myself freaking out that I can't COMPLETELY control how it turns out. (The lab I send it to does) And I've been sending it to not the BEST lab because the best is stinking expensive. But I just found an alternate that's almost as good and half the pretty penny the best lab is. So we shall see.
I'm working back up to the "don't compare yourself to others, etc" phase I was in. But today is just one of those days.... and I know I can get back up to where I was because I did it with digital. It's all about the learning process :)
ok. tangent done. I still love Film.

i've joined
I've learned a little bit about how to coupon. One of my neighbors did a little class right before a great sale and so I went and tried my luck! I didn't do too shabby, either. Except I ended up paying more than I thought and wanted because some sneaky little hands grabbed an extra can or two of soup ;) I should have checked it over before I left, BUT there was a lady behind me that looked kind of irritated, haha, so I just left.
I didn't take a picture of it all, cuz I really just didn't want to BUT this is what I got for 10.35.
12 boxes of pasta
2 big things of Sunny D. (which i realized I dont like sunny D, but it was .79 so I thought I'd try.)
2 boxes of cereal
2 boxes of cheez-its
6 Jello temptations (YUM)
bread
2 cans of soup (thanks to warrens sneaky hands)
I think I'm missing something else, but eh.
I saved 40 bucks and we use and like all these things (cept for Sunny D.) So I was pretty proud of myself. I promise this blog wont turn into my super savings. I'm not going to become a crazy couponer but I definitely will try and get what I can!
I was really turned off by couponing at first when all I would see people getting was a bunch of stuff that I didn't really like for the mere fact of getting it free, which I guess is good if you really do like and use that stuff. It's really not as hard as I thought . I was as confused as anyone could get at first so I didn't even try, but now I'm ready to save some moola!!

why God made moms
I read off of one of my friends, Jenny's, blog, "I know that everyone thinks that they have the greatest mom and the truth is that they do...the greatest mom for them. And I have the greatest mom for me." I loved that when I read that. So true, we have the best mom for us. I have the best mom in the world for me. Having a little stinker of my own, makes you realize 10 times more what my momma did for me growing up and how selfless she was. She always spoiled us on our birthdays and took special care of us when we were sick and was always so aware of our feelings. I love my momma like crazy, even though I was a stubborn teenager. She went above and beyond for us and still does. LOVE YOU TONS MOMMA.
I love this picture of my mom. She's a daredevil and will give anything a try:)
Here's something SUPER funny I saw on another friends, Aria's, blog.

and not me.
