we can't get enough

We went home again! My whole family came home for a few days before we headed to our big Wood Reunion at Lava Hot Springs. Once again it was awesome being home!! I took way too many pictures, so I wont bore you with a HUGE post of pictures, but just a few highlights:) And by a few highlights, I mean 10-15. haha.

Seth & I got there a day or two before the rest of my siblings started rolling in.

First Shanae & I made Kali pose for us:) Then they painted their fingernails poolside.

And then went for a swim, well Kali went for a swim,

while Seth shot birds in the orchard.

I walked outside later that afternoon to find Aaron teaching Kali how to fish in the pool with a toy gorilla as bait. I was cracking up (at the gorilla bait).

aaah cute...

Sunday we had a lazy afternoon enjoying the warm weather and each others company.

Warren and Dawson were trying to get used to each other.

They ended up laughing,

and holding hands.

Monday we lounged at the pool and Warren got his first experience underwater! The first time it wasn't too bad, but the second he got a little mad at momma :S

Then off to the Country Mercantile for a birthday party. My lil nephew turned 2. They had fun riding grandpas train, playing on the blow up toy, eating ice cream, and holding their balloons.

And a couple random pictures for your viewing pleasure :)
Everyday Krew asked for salad and oranges and Lightning McQueen was always near.

I thought this was pretty funny. Kali wanted to hold Warren standing up, his head is as big as hers and he's racing to catch her height.

This was only half our Vacay home. I'll save the other half for another day! Check back soon.

city-by-the-sea

This last weekend we packed up and headed to Carmel, California, the "city-by-the-sea". As many know and some don't know, Seth is a lover of golf. When he found out the US Open was at his favorite golf course, Pebble Beach, he knew he had to go. I had never been to Carmel so it was an exciting adventure. We always travel by night as to try and keep the munchkin asleep. It was a long drive, VERY LOOOOONNNGG drive.

We got there around noon, checked into our campsite. (Anything close or in Carmel was more than we wanted to spend for a one night stay in a hotel.)
Then we met up with one of Seth's long time friends, Brad and his wife, Katie for lunch and then headed down to the beach.

It was cold.

We spent most of our time on the beach trying to catch glimpses of the golfers on the course, and of course, taking pictures. Brad and Katie were happy to be my models :)

After the beach, we headed to tour the mission but it was closed, so I took pictures of the Hagens scaling walls to take pictures :)

This is the only picture I took of our camping adventure. It was freezing. Let me rephrase that, I WAS FREEZING. Seth said it wasn't cold but it was super windy. The view was awesome, but once again I was too cold to take any pictures. We set up the tent then sat in our car eating cup of noodles and PBJ sandwiches. We were exhausted from the night before so we went to bed quite early. I thought Warren wasn't going to do so well, but we suited him up for the cold and he did alright.

Ok, I lied, I took this picture too.

Next morning, I dropped off Seth for the day, then met up with Katie to have a girls day out.
First stop: Point Lobos. It was a beautiful walk and came out to a few different points that you could choose to venture out on.

Can you find the seals?

Second Stop: Lunch at the beach.
This was Rens first experience with sand. I thought it was gonna be one and done. One hand in the sand and then straight to the mouth. Surprisingly his hand didn't come near his mouth. He just dug his hands in then pulled the sand up onto his lap like two little rakes. He was loving it and was concerned about nothing more than this new found treasure.

While Warren played in the sand, Katie I enjoyed a little of this.

Third Stop: Gilroy Outlets. I really love outlet malls and this one was GI-NORM. I don't know if we even made it through half the stores. I've never "hated" shopping, but as each year passes I loose a little love for the sport and it doesn't help when the little is tired/hungry/tries to pull all the clothes off hangers/wants to be held instead of sit in his stroller. None-the-less I managed to come away with a few little gems. Sorry, no pictures. I couldn't quite juggle the camera.

We then headed back to Carmel in hopes our lost hubbies would want to be found. Nope. So again, we went to the cold beach and watched the sunset without our men. Well, I take that back, Ren was our man :)

Our original plan was to just drive home to Utah Saturday night, but we decided it wasn't the smartest so we drove to one of my best friends/old roommate apt in Sacramento and crashed for the night. Thanks again Ran!

Sunday we began the LLLOOOONNNGG journey home. We were stuck in the Sierra Nevadas for about 2 hours in construction. We managed to enjoy the scenery though and hop out for some fun pictures. Only 2 blowouts, not too bad ;)

The ride home was filled with:

this............................................. this............................................ and this

and a lot of this:
